A beehive is a box or other container for bees to live in. A beehive was formerly often made of coils of straw stacked one upon the other, in the shape of a dome. But now, it is usually just a rectangle box. Inside the hive of a honeybee are cells made of wax. The queen bee lays eggs in these cells. The worker bees collect pollen and nectar from flowers. The nectar is then made into honey. It is stored in the hive to feed bees in winter.
